Introducing Emily H.

Share a brief overview of your professional background.

I got my start as a freelance production manager and stage manager for theater, film, and live events in Philadelphia.  After an eight-week cross country road trip in 2021, I moved up to Burlington and shifted my career into events, sales and hospitality. I am currently the Group Sales Manager at the Courtyard Burlington Harbor Hotel, and in 2024, I started a business providing day-of coordination for weddings throughout Vermont.

Share a bit about your personal interests or hobbies.

I have always been an avid reader! My favorite author is Fredrik Backman, and I am currently reading If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio. I also love going to concerts, traveling, rock climbing, and pursuing delicious ice cream.

Recommend a local restaurant/shop/business that you love.

I cannot get enough of Pizzeria Verita! Absolutely delicious, every time.

Tell us what you like most about living in the greater Burlington area.

I truly love the focus on community and local engagement. And there's always something new to explore in all of the small towns around the area!

Share what motivated you to join the BYP Advisory Board.

I love the sense of community that BYP creates, and I wanted to be more involved in the community. As someone who has had multiple career shifts in a new city, it was great to find such a comfortable and encouraging organization.
